Drone Airspace Restrictions over Toronto

Note that the map shows an American FAA 5 mile (8 km) radius restriction around Toronto's Airports; the Transport Canada website says the rule here is 9 km!

Also note that Transport Canada's "Don't" list basically says you can't fly drones in urban places.

  1. I'm not sure why FAA (a US Agency) rules apply to a Canadian city?

    1. They don't.

I came at this from a an American perspective - their FAA just ruled on drones and US airspace. Thinking Canada was behind on this, I made a map about how that ruling would apply here (if adopted here). After I finished the map I decided to check if Canada had a regulation of drones yet - and we did - so the note at the top and the link at the bottom.

      Cheers.

      Thanks for posting.
